WP 1. Assessment of well-being and needs of Syrian refugee youth and their households

  • Structured interviews (500 total)

Through structured interviews with 500 respondents, we will collect data on refugee youth and their household members. We aim to discover their living arrangements, education, work, to what extent they can access to services provided by the state and other actors, aspirations for future and how these are divided by gender. We expect each interview to last around 45 minutes. We will use a stratified and purposeful surveying method to conduct household surveys in five cities, including Gaziantep, Mardin, Adana, İstanbul and İzmir.

  • Facebook survey in UK, Germany, Turkey

A short, online survey targeting Syrian refugee youth who are currently in Turkey, as well as those who have left Turkey for Germany and the UK. The survey will consist of a set of five to seven questions regarding education, employment, and residence in order to review the differences in well-being in various destinations. This survey will offer an alternative method for triangulating our data.
