WP 4. Policy and Mapping

  • Comparative and historical overview of large-scale settlement and integration policies.

A comparative and historical survey of best practices and lessons learned from European and Turkish past and present experiences of mass migration. While expert interviews discussed above, will enable us to understand what EU receiving countries consider best practices regarding migrant immigration. We will also undertake a comparative report that will summarise lessons learned from previous large-scale refugee settlement projects, including Turkey’s own settlement and integration policies and practices since 1923.

  • Mapping of local, regional, national and international civil society, humanitarian, voluntary and philanthropic organisations

To understand the access of Syrian youth to services, we will undertake a mapping of these organisations in the five areas that we will cover in order to understand which organisations refugees use for accessing which services and why.
